Significance

The authors previously reported the electrophilic fluorodesilylation of organosilanes as a way of overcoming issues of reactivity and re­gioselectivity associated with fluorinating agents (Org. Lett. 2003, 5, 4891). In the present work a stereospecific, electrophilic fluorocyclization of ­allyl silanes is disclosed. Fluorinated molecules are of interest due to their prevalence in pharmaceutical and agrochemical compounds.
