Significance
This concise total synthesis of 2-O-methylneovibsanin features an acid-catalyzed four-step cascade (E → I) involving deprotection, Michael addition, solvolysis and Fischer esterification in one pot. This paper supports the biosynthesis route proposed by Fukuyama.
