Abstract

The bitter tasting quassinoids of Quassia amara and Picrasma excelsa were quantitatively estimated by direct photometry after DC-separation, HPLC-method and densitometry after circular chromatographic separation. The three methods give comparable results and can be considered as new alternative estimation methods to the sensorie analytical method.
