Abstract

Some naturally occuring and synthetic eugenol–esters and –ethers have been tested on the isolated guinea pig ileum for their antispasmodic activity and compared with papaverine. Some showed higher and some lower activity than papaverine. The propenyl dérivâtes were more effective than the allyl isomers.
