Introduction

We report the imaging findings obtained in a patient with primary acinar cell carcinoma of the liver. This histological tumor entity is usually found within the pancreas. However, ectopic acinar tissue can occur within the liver and rarely develop into a malignant tumor. Only a few cases of primary acinar cell carcinoma of the liver have been described and the imaging characteristics are unknown. We show computed tomography (CT) as well as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in a young patient that show an imaging signature differing from classic hepatocellular and cholangiocellular carcinoma.
