Significance
Indole, imidazole and pyrazole enyne aldehydes undergo reactions with γ,δ-unsaturated Fischer carbene complexes to form multi-ring fused heterocyclic systems. These complex reactions allow the rapid assemblage of heterocyclic derivatives with carbo and heterocyclic frameworks. Hypothetical intermediates are proposed for these transformations. The scope and limitations of these methods were not widely tested.
