Significance

Using an Ir(I)-ddppm complex, a variety of aromatic imines could be hydrogenated to chiral secondary amines with excellent yields and very good enantioselectivities. The key aspect of these reactions is that they were performed at ambient temperatures and 1 atm of H2(g). Interestingly, increasing the pressure of H2(g) led to erosion of enantioselectivity.
