Abstract
The influence of the iliolumbar ligaments on the stability of the sacroiliac joint was investigated during the application of increasing moments of force across the joint in human cadavers. It could be established that the iliolumbar ligaments restrict the sagittal mobility of the sacroiliac joint. The ventral ligaments contribute most to this restriction.
