Uterine Artery Embolization after Internal Iliac Artery Ligation
Uterine artery embolization (UAE) is one of primary therapies to treat symptomatic uterine fibroids. Although UAE for patient who underwent internal iliac artery ligation during a massive pelvic hemorrhage or peripartum bleeding can be performed through embolizing collaterals.
We report 44-year-old women who underwent uterine artery embolization for symptomatic multiple uterine fibroids after internal iliac artery ligation with collaterals originated from the left external iliac artery. We briefly present the case's details and review collaterals pathways after unilateral and bilateral internal iliac artery ligation that might be encounter during uterine artery embolization.
