Publication History
Publication Date:
15 February 2020 (online)
It is with great honor that I assume the role of editor for Seminars in Plastic Surgery. Since 2005, Dr. Larry H. Hollier, Jr. has led this publication as editor with a mind toward the advancement of the understanding of Plastic Surgery throughout the world. The breadth and diversity of topics covered during his tenure is immense, explaining its success and level of readership. I hope to continue on this well-established path, including guest editors and authors with great competence and vast experience to help surgeons today and in the future with their practice and patients. Plastic Surgery is an encompassing and innovative field with a broad reach, both multidisciplinary and international. Our hope is to bring to the forefront innovations, practices, and techniques developed and used by surgeons and physicians and push the frontier of Plastic Surgery into the future. This content will be encompassing, crossing specialties and geographic boundaries so that the best and most effective solutions are brought forward. Although the challenges we face in medicine nationally and across the globe are massive and seem insurmountable, the passion we have as practitioners for our patients and the expertise we have gained from our work will help us address these issues to increase our understanding and effectiveness. We alone possess this knowledge and we alone have the capacity to solve some of Plastic Surgery and medicine's greatest challenges. With this publication and its readership, I hope to highlight some of these challenges and the solutions our colleagues have developed to provide the best possible practice. Thank you for joining me on this journey, highlighting the very best in the great field of Plastic Surgery.
