Dr. Fife has dedicated his life's work to improving our care of patients with vertigo and other disorders of imbalance. He has published multiple scholarly works and is a very popular lecturer at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting. He is an Honorary Commander of the 56th Medical Group, Luke Air Force Base outside of Phoenix. Dr. Fife has been recognized innumerable times as one of America's Top Doctors; his tireless and dedicated work has been honored with a “Compassionate Doctor” recognition. I am so very proud that he is a Hoosier, born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His patients rave about his knowledge and about the amount of time he takes to carefully listen to them. In the words of his patients and all of us who have worked with him, “He is such a kind man.”

In this issue of Seminars in Neurology, Dr. Fife has assembled an international group of experts to share their knowledge with us of the clinical features, etiologies, and management of these disorders. Neuro-otologists are precious, rare gems in medicine. Our thank you to each and every one of you!
