The Guest Editors of this issue of Seminars in Neurology are Hans A. Püttgen, MD, and Romergryko G. Geocadin, MD.

Dr. Püttgen is Assistant Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology, and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He is also the Fellowship Director for the Johns Hopkins Fellowship in Neurocritical Care. Dr. Püttgen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his Medical Doctorate from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He did his internship at Emory and trained in Neurology and Neurosciences Critical Care at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Geocadin is Associate Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology-Critical Care Medicine and Neurological Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Geocadin earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of the Philippines and his Medical Doctorate from the University of the East–Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center College of Medicine in Metro Manila, Philippines. He trained in Neurology at the New York University Medical Center in New York City and did a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Neurosciences Critical Care at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Together they have put together an outstanding group of authors to increase our knowledge of the state-of-the-art care of the patient with acute coma and other disorders of consciousness. We are so very grateful to Dr. Püttgen and Dr. Geocadin and to all of the contributors to this issue of Seminars in Neurology.
