Phytotherapy offers an extensive range of medicinal plants for the treatment of respiratory infections. Especially in pediatrics, they are ideal, because they only have few side effects. The spectrum ranges from medicinal plants with an antiphlogistic and antitussive effect to antimicrobial, antipyretic and immunomodulating therapeutic agents. The overview presents the most important plants and informs about indications, forms of application, dosage, and possible side effects with relevance to practice.
