Introduction

Ocular or orbital injuries after mechanical impact of foreign material may be challenging and difficult to diagnose especially in children [1], [2], [3]. There are a considerable number of publications available reporting on large foreign bodies of different materials retained in the conjunctival fornix for relatively long periods [4], [5], [6]. This case description reports the discovery of the longest solid foreign body ever extracted after long-term persistence in the conjunctival sac. Although of extensive size, the foreign body was previously overlooked by three experienced external ophthalmologists.
