Abstract
It will be shown that findings referred to as “Micropapillomatosis” are, in fact, completely normal and physiological skin components: the so-called genital papillae. However, the term “Micropapillomatosis” as well as “Papillomatosis” and “Papilloma” implies the existence of a tumor that, in many countries, in the past and in present times leads to unnecessary therapeutical procedures. For that reason, the original studies of B. Lipschuetz is referred to. He accurately described these physiological papillae and the difference to condylomata as early as 1924.
