In der modernen Physiotherapie nehmen Assessments eine Schlüsselrolle ein. Sie bilden die Grundlage für klinische Entscheidungen und sichern die Qualität physiotherapeutischen Handelns ab. Ohne valide und reliabel erhobene Daten bleibt jede physiotherapeutische Diagnose, Prognose, Verlaufsbeurteilung und Auswahl einer Therapiemaßnahme potenziell fehleranfällig. Assessments sind somit nicht nur Werkzeuge der Befunderhebung, sondern auch ein integraler Bestandteil des Clinical Reasoning und der evidenzbasierten Praxis. Im ersten Teil klären wir die Theorie und Bedeutung hinter allen relevanten Gütekriterien.
