Intergenerationale Weitergabe von Traumata

Wenn ein nahestehender Mensch ein Trauma erlebt, ist dies auch für Angehörige oft schwer zu ertragen. Durch den ständigen Kontakt mit der posttraumatischen Symptomatik können sich psychische Symptome entwickeln, die jenen der Betroffenen selbst sehr ähnlich sind: Alpträume, erhöhte Wachsamkeit, sowie Vermeidung von Trigger, die Erinnerungen an das Trauma wachrufen. Ein Überblick anhand einer Studie zu den Langzeitfolgen von Kriegsgefangenschaft.
