Approximately 200 cases of pituitary adenomas and other rare pituitary tumors were operated on by a single surgeon at King Hussein Medical Center and King Hussein Cancer Center using the frontolateral approach, the direct endonasal transsphenoidal approach, and the endoscopic transsphenoidal approach. Good results were achieved, according to international standards. The approaches, surgical tricks, advantages, and disadvantages will be discussed and presented, stressing the fact that the first-mentioned approach (the frontolateral approach) provides the best opportunity to cure patients with Cushing's disease and acromegaly.

We achieved these good results because of our teamwork with endocrinologists, pathologists, radiologists, and ophthalmologists. We are now a referral center both locally and for many of the neighboring countries.
