Objective: The diagnosis of pancreatic tumors affections is facilitated by abdominal echography, completed when is necessary, by TC and MRI.

Material and method: We propose to estimate a 2 years longitudinal study, the abdominal echography of the patients hospitalized in Clinical Medical CF Timişoara, by selecting the patients with benign pancreatic tumors (cystic tumor of the pancreas) or malignant (head, body or tail neoplasm of the pancreas). The patients were aged between 31–78 years, (the mean age was 54, 5 years) and the incidence of the affections was higher in male patients.

Results: From all 5123 of the abdominal echography, the pancreatic affection was present in 1895 of patients (37%). Cephalic or corporeal pancreatic cyst was present at 247 of the patients (13%), pancreatic head neoplasm in 122 patients (6, 4%), pancreatic body neoplasm in 85 patients (4, 48%), and pancreatic tail neoplasm in 36 patients (2%).

Conclusions: In conclusion, it is necessary an abdominal echography screening in the patients with hepatopancreatic pathology, with high risk of pancreatic tumors.
