We present two 16 year old girls, who were operated on a brain tumor and histology showed rare tumors in that age group. The first patient presented with a 9 months history of headache. MRI examination showed a large tumor (6×4cm) in the left parieto-occipital area with severe edema. The tumor could be removed completely and histology showed an astroblastoma. One year postoperatively there was no recurrence.

The second young lady complained of headache for 6 months and MRI showed a large tumor in the left frontal area with connection to the lateral ventricle. The tumor was also removed completely and histology showed an atypical central neurocytoma. The proliferation index was 13% and 9 months after the primary operation a recurrent tumor was seen on MRI Follow-up.

We would like to present these rare differential diagnoses in pediatric brain tumors and discuss the diagnostic and therapeutic options.
