GLC-MS Computer Analysis of the Essential Oil of Thymus capitatus

Abstract

By combination of gas-liquid chromatography and mass spectral computer analysis it was possible to isolate 60 constituents of the essential oil of Thymus capitatus; 55 of these compounds could be identified. The main components are carvacrol, thymol and their isomers, as well as myrcene, α-terpinene and p-cy-mene.
