Significance
Development of novel ligand structures with the combined use of relatively little studied metals as chiral catalysts is essential for discovering new possibilities in asymmetric catalysis. The present study gives a good example in this scenario: Although the Diels-Alder reaction between Danishefsky’s dienes and aldehydes has been extensively exploited for years, the chiral N,N -dioxide/indium(III) complex might still stand out as an attractive alternative for future applications.
