An einem Bürgerhaus in Wien aus der Zeit um 1500 findet sich ein Fresko auf dem eine Kuh mit einer Brille auf der Stirn bei einem Brettspiel abgebildet ist. Die brillengeschichtliche Eingliederung und die näheren Umstände werden erläutert.
Summary
On the wall of a house in Vienna built in about 1500 there is a fresco in which a cow is depicted with spectacles on her brow, playing a board game. The connection between this image and the history of spectacles, as well as details pertaining to the fresco itself, are discussed.
