Möglichkeiten für den Aufbau eines integrierten Computersystems in einer augenärztlichen Praxis

Zusammenfassung

Bedingt durch hohen Fluktuationsgrad und Patientendurchlauf ist die augenärztliche Praxis mit überdurchschnittlichem Verwaltungsaufwand belastet, der sich jedoch von seiner Daten-Struktur gut zur Übertragung auf EDV eignen würde. Da außerdem die in dieser Praxis anfallenden Befund- und Diagnostik-Daten durchweg numerische Meßwerte darstellen, erscheint kaum eine andere Fachpraxis so gut zur Einführung von EDV-Systemen geeignet. Da jedoch eine brauchbare Anwender-Software für die augenärztlichen Belange bisher noch nicht auf dem Markt verfügbar ist, kann der Augenarzt noch keinen Vorteil aus der Nutzung eines Computersystems in seiner Praxis ziehen. Abgesehen von kleinen Verwaltungs-Systemen muß sogar zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt vor der Anschaffung eines Praxis-Computers dringend abgeraten werden. Die Kollegenschaft muß mit klar definierten Programm-Vorgaben einem Programmierer Hilfe und Information bei der Entwicklung sicherer Anwender-Software geben.

The ophthalmologist's office is, more than any other, charged with an administrative task which could easily be delegated to an electronic data processing system. As most of the information and data in an ophthalmologist's practice is of a mathematical-numeriacal nature, the introduction of an integrated computer system is both rational and desirable. Unfortunately there is no suitable software for such a purpose on the market at present. Therefore, the ophthalmologist cannot yet share the advantages and progress that EDP has brought to the office and communications sectors. Careful consideration of the problem of suitable software support has led the author to the firm recommendation that no computer system should be bought until a suitable program becomes available. In the meantime, one should collaborate with one's colleagues to define standard needs, and help software professionals with information in order to develop such a program as soon as possible.
