Retinopathie und periphere Microangiopathie verbunden mit Pankreatitis
Retinal Disease and Microangiopathy of the Extremities in a Case of PancreatitisPublication History

Summary
Retinal fat emoblism, complement-induced granulocyte aggregations and lesions of retinal vessels have been reported as the cause for retinal disease associated with pancreatitis. In a patient with pancreatitis a disseminated intravascular coagulation led to the loss of both legs; simultaneously a hemorrhage and exudation were observed in the right fundus. Therefore, disseminated intravascular coagulation is considered as a possible cause of retinal disease in cases of pancreatitis.
