Methodische Vorbemerkungen
Die Erstfassung der Leitlinie zur Langzeit-Sauerstofftherapie wurde 2001 (Pneumologie 2001; 55: 454 – 464) entsprechend den methodischen Empfehlungen zur Erarbeitung von Leitlinien für Diagnostik und Therapie der Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Wissenschaftlichen Medizinischen Fachgesellschaften (AWMF) [1] erstellt.
Die Aktualisierung der Leitlinie erfolgte durch die Autoren. Es wurde eine umfassende, computergestützte Literaturrecherche zum Themengebiet durchgeführt. Als Hauptinformationsquellen dienten dabei: Medline, Cochrane Library. Es wurde die internationale Literatur von 1955 – 2007 erfasst. Als Suchwörter wurden „oxygen”, „LTOT”, „COPD”, „costs”, „quality of life” und „survival” eingesetzt.
Alle Beteiligten, die an der Fassung von 2001 mitgearbeitet haben, wurden um Stellungnahmen gebeten, die in die Fassung eingearbeitet wurden, die Grundlage der Konsensuskonferenz vom 10.09.2007 in Kassel war. Die Autoren der Leitlinie haben an der Konsensuskonferenz teilgenommen.
Die Leitlinie wurde dem Vorstand der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Pneumologie und Beatmungsmedizin zugeleitet, der diese am 13.12.2007 angenommen hat und zur Publikation im Organ der Gesellschaft, der Zeitschrift „Pneumologie” empfahl. Eine Aktualisierung der Leitlinie ist alle 4 Jahre geplant und liegt in Verantwortung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Pneumologie.
Die wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen der Leitlinien sind nach den entsprechenden Vorgaben der „Evidence-based medicine” ([Tab. 1]) erarbeitet worden [1]. Die Leitlinie wurde von einer authorisierten Person der AWMF als S2-Leitlinie gewertet.
