Recent US guidelines state that, at screening colonoscopy in individuals above 50 years of age, adenoma detection rates must be higher than 25 % in men and 15 % in women [1]. Should European gastroenterologists embrace the adenoma detection rates of the US gastroenterologists as the main quality control parameter during colonoscopy?
