Significance
(-)-Archazolid B, isolated from the myxobacterium Archangium gephyra, selectively inhibits mammalian V-ATPases. The synthesis features three very different Ru-catalyzed reactions: (1) Kita esterification, (2) Trost-Alder-ene reaction, and (3) relay ring-closing metathesis.
