Einleitung

Die Aufdeckung der molekularen Grundlagen hat die Diagnostik und Therapie einer Reihe von gastroenterologischen Krankheitsbildern erweitert. Insbesondere hat die Möglichkeit einer genetischen Diagnostik die Diagnosestellung und Differenzialdiagnostik erheblich verbessert. Einen relevanten Stellenwert in der Gastroenterologie hat eine genetische Diagnostik bei Verdacht auf ein hereditäres Tumordispositions-Syndrom, eine hereditäre Pankreatitis und eine hereditäre Stoffwechselerkrankung der Leber. Im Rahmen dieser Übersichtsarbeit sollen die gastroenterologischen Krankheitsbilder bei denen bereits heute eine genetische Diagnostik Standard ist, und insbesondere der Stellenwert der genetischen Diagnostik übersichtlich dargestellt werden.
