Significance
The acid-promoted condensation of aldehydes and 1,2- and 1,3-hydroxyalkyl azides was applied for the construction of a library of oxazolines and dihydrooxazines. Combinatorial parallel reactions of nine aldehydes and eight azide alcohols (including non-reactive combinations) provided the 60-member library of various substituted heterocycles. A high-throughput protocol of the ring-construction reaction was realized by use of PS-supported triarylphosphine and PS-supported Ts-hydrazine to scavenge the unreacted azides and aldehydes, respectively.
