ABSTRACT

In order to understand the fasciocutaneous circulation of the leg more clearly, the vasculature of the skin and deep fascia was investigated. We mapped the vascular plexus of the deep fascia and found that the vessels and fascial plexus have their own axes. The vasculature of the deep fascia was categorized into six types. This classification should help in the planning of various fasciocutaneous flaps of the leg.
