ABSTRACT

A case of total reconstruction of the Achilles tendon is reported. A compound free musculocuta-neous unit of fascia lata was used to supply the absent tendon and soft tissues, achieving excellent cosmetic and functional results. This technique is suggested as an alternative for combating infection, providing soft-tissue cover, and bridging the gap in the tendon.
