Abstract

The effects of the isolated compounds (anthraquinones) of roots of Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb et Zucc. (Polygonaceae) on HL-60 cells were investigated. Emodin showed better cytotoxicity and inhibition precursor incorporation into DNA and RNA activities than the other isolated components.
