Significance
Access to enantiomerically pure α-amino acids has always been an area of intense research (see review below). Whereas most methods use asymmetric Mannich-type reactions, the present paper highlights a very efficient copper-catalyzed enantioselective allylation of electrophilic iminoesters with nucleophilic allylsilanes using a diamine ligand.
