Significance

3-Azabicyclo[3,1,0]hexane derivatives can be prepared by applying the Kulinko­vich-de Meijere reaction. Further intramolecular aromatic electrophilic substitution provides a means to the synthesis of tetrahydrocarbolines and tetrahydro-β-isoquinolines. In a further study of 3-azabicyclo[4.1.0]heptane, mechanistic insight of cyclization is reported.
