A set of variously protected N-alkynylamides (ynamides) undergoes efficient intermolecular Pauson-Khand reactions with a variety of olefins to give α-amidocyclopentenones with a high degree of molecular diversity. The obtained cycloaddition products can be transformed through deprotection to synthetically useful enamines or enamides.
