A linker allowing a ring closing metathesis mediated cleavage of resin bound oligosaccharides in the form of their 1-O-allyl derivatives was designed. This new linker system for the solid phase synthesis of oligosaccharides via the trichloroacetimidate approach demonstrated highly promising results.
