Publication History
Publication Date:
31 December 2000 (online)
The lithium dienolate 2 of 2,5-dimethyl-3(2H)-furanone (1) was reacted with alkenes substituted with moderately and strongly electron withdrawing groups to give 7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]heptanone derivatives. When strongly electron withdrawing groups were present, the reactions occurred under very mild conditions.
