New 2-oxazolines, 1,2-bis- and 1,3-bis(oxazolinyl)benzenes were synthesized respectively from aliphatic, aromatic aldehydes, cinnamaldehyde, activated ketones, phthalic dicarboxaldehyde, isophthalaldehyde and imidate 1a derived from dimethyl aminomalonate by regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions using solvent-free conditions at 70°C.
