A highly selective SN’ reaction of allylic phosphates with various aluminum alkyls under CuCN catalysis is described. The addition of CuCN to aluminum alkyls (AlR3) alters the regioselectivity of C-C bond formation in THF or ethyl acetate giving almost exclusively SN’ products in high yields.
