Publication History

Publication Date:
31 December 2000 (online)

The 1,6-methano[10]annulene-substituted tungsten carbene complex 1 reacts with alkynes 2a-c through a [3+2] cycloaddition process. In each case only one of all possible regio- and stereoisomers was formed. The structure of one of the cycloadducts (enol ether 3a) was determined by X-ray structure analysis, whereas the configuration of the cyclopentenones 5b and 5c is not yet clear.
