Starting with (+)-nopinone (3); (R)-(-)-Cryptone (1) and (S)-(-)-4-isopropenyl-2-cyclohexen-1-one (2) were synthesized in five steps and 42% overall yield, and four steps and 49% overall yield, respectively.
