1,6-Naphthyridin-2(6H)-ones 3, quinolin-2(1H)-ones 5, and quino[7,8-f] quinoline-2,9(1H,10H)-dione 10 have been synthesized from 5-acyl-6-[2-(dimethylamino)ethenyl] pyridin-2(1H)-ones 1.
