5-Amino-4-trifluoromethylthiazoles and 5-Aminomethyl-4-trifluoromethyl-1,3-azoles: Useful Starting Materials for the Synthesis of Biologically Active Compounds The title compounds are obtained from 5-fluoro-4-trifluoromethyl-1,3-azoles. Introduction of various side chains of potential biological interest at C-5 can be achieved with electrophiles by reaction of the amino group.
