Treatment of 2-phenylsulphonylpyrrolidines, -piperidines, -tetrahydrofurans and -tetrahydropyrans in dichloro-methane with alkyl organometallic reagents prepared from the Grignard reagents and zinc chloride affords the corresponding substitution products in moderate to excellent yield.
