1-Alkyl-3-trifluoromethyl-4-phenylsulfonylpyrazoles were prepared from 1,1,1-trifluoro-3-phenylsulfonyl-2,2-propanediol, a new building block for heterocycles having trifluoromethyl and sulfonyl groups.
