The synthesis of (Z)-N-trifluoroacetyl-dehydroamino acids via trimethylsilanol elimination from 2-(N-trifluoroacetyl-N-trimethylsilylamino)-3-trimethylsiloxyalkanoic acid esters by methanesulfonic or trifluoroacetic acid anhydride is described.
