Welcome to the fourth issue of volume 15 of the Ibnosina Journal of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The issue has a variety of articles, including five original articles, a case report, a personal paper, and a correspondence. In a systematic review of experimental models, Nur Nadhirah Suhaimi and colleagues examine the association between phytoestrogen consumption and female reproductive health. Hussain Alsaffar et al evaluate the medical students' attitudes toward and awareness of teaching and participation in formal clinical teaching in Iraq, while Seham Eshrif et al portray the profile of neuromuscular disorders in the neurology clinic of Tripoli Children Hospital, Tripoli, Libya. Also, Tanzeel Ur Rehman considers the immune system's responsiveness to nanomedicine during coronavirus infections through a literature review and bibliometric analysis. Finally, Maria E.M. Mariano et al assess the nursing students' learning style preferences.

The case report by Abduladim Mabrook and Elhadi Aburawi illustrates the rare association of thiamine-responsive megaloblastic anemia syndrome with the thalassemia trait. In his article on medical education, Samir Kahwash digs into his third drawer for an end-of-term letter to trainees. Finally, in their letter to the editor, Sabri Selcuk Atamanalp and colleagues elaborate on the “The role of Ramadan fasting on intestinal volvulus and knotting” briefly mentioned in a previous narrative review on Ramadan and health in 2022.

Despite all the challenges and obstacles, we have strictly adhered to our mission and goals over the last 15 years and we remain resolved to do so. This year, we received our maiden impact factor (IF) of 0.2 by Clarivate Analytics. Albeit it is a very low IF, it remains a positive forward step for us. In addition to Google Scholar and Exaly, we have been included in the new database “Scilit.” It is a comprehensive content aggregator platform for scholarly publications developed and maintained by the open-access publisher MDPI AG. The platform seems well developed, with a more comprehensive coverage than the more selective ones such as SCOPUS, which is particularly exclusive of journals from developing regions.

We hope the contents of this issue and all later issues interest our readers and our journal keeps progressing.
