Impfungen können bereits in der Schwangerschaft Leben retten. Sie zählen aber zu den Themen der Medizin, die besonders kontrovers und emotional diskutiert werden. Eine kleine, jedoch lautstark agierende Gruppe lehnt aus ideologischen Gründen Impfungen ab oder negiert gar die Existenz von Infektionserregern. Mit fatalen Folgen, wie nachfolgendes Beispiel zeigt.
