Notfälle in der Zahnarztpraxis reichen von der häufig auftretenden aber relativ harmlosen vasovagalen Synkope bis hin zum seltenen aber lebensbedrohlichen Herzinfarkt [1] . An 1. Stelle steht immer die Wiederherstellung eines Mindestkreislaufs mit Reanimationsmaßnahmen, sofern dies notwendig ist. Danach sollten, abhängig von der Ätiologie des Notfalls, spezifische Behandlungsschritte eingeleitet werden.
